Happy New Year! We look forward to making 2026 another meaningful and joyful year together. Thank you, as always, for your continued support.
2026 is known as Uma, the Year of the Horse- written not with 馬 (horse), but with 午 (Go). Its origins trace back to the cycle of plant growth, later paired with animals whose names shared similar sounds to make them easier to remember. Go marks a turning point: growth pauses, matures, and prepares for what comes next.
Inspired by this idea, Learning Tree hopes to focus this year on thoughtful growth rather than rushing ahead. Our aim is to continue offering meaningful learning experiences by deepening learning, strengthening dialogue, and working closely together- valuing the growth and hopes of each individual in our community.
From nurturing security in PreKinder to building connection through debate and sports in Elementary, expanding global learning through sister-school exchanges in Middle School, and preparing for our future IB High School, each stage reflects our shared commitment. This year, we begin to see the fruits of the foundations we have been growing.
Drawing inspiration from Asian traditions and guided by global standards, we look forward to moving ahead together.
Thank you for your continued partnership- we are excited to welcome you back on January 7th.
Warm regards,
Fumiko Masaki, Ph.D.
